Youth & 4-H Mecklenburg County 4-H Fact Sheet (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader) _________________________________________________________________________________ 4-H GIS / GPS TEEN GROUP Where: Extension Offices located at 1418 Armory Dr Charlotte, NC 28204 Who: Any teen age 13-18 is welcome to attend. This group will meet once a month and will learn from a college professor what GIS/GPS is, the career opportunities within the field, and will participate in hands on activities. Dinner will be provide at meetings. Teens must register in order to attend. There is only space for 15 teens. Register now to hold your space. Teens can register by calling 704-336-4016 or email susan_buckley@ncsu.edu Cost: FREE!!! ________________________________________________________________________________ 4-H PLANT SALE Fall 4-H plant sale orders are now CLOSED. Those that ordered by October 31 will be able to pick up their plants on Friday, November 7 between 9am and 5pm or Saturday, November 8 between 9am and 12noon at the 4-H Office. If you have a question about your plant sale order, please call 704.336.2082 weekdays between 8am and 5pm. ________________________________________________________________________________ 4-H KICK OFF A SUCCESS!Over 350 youth and teens participated in the 4-H Kick Off Celebration held Tuesday afternoon, September 30 at the 4-H Offices and Independence Park. 4-H'ers from across the county participated in educational sessions including beekeeping, healthy snacks, healthy drinks, video chants, double dutch, rocketry and the science behind M&M's.
